WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU STOP SMOKING NOW?

In 20 minutes
Your blood pressure returns to normal. Pulse rate will drop and the temperature of your hands and feet will increase.


In 8 hours
The carbon monoxide (a toxic gas) level in your blood stream will drop by half and your oxygen level will return to normal.


In 24 hours
Your risk of having a heart attack will decrease.


In 48 hours
All nicotine will leave your body. Nerve endings begin to regrow. Your sense of taste and smell will return to a normal level.


In 72 hours
Your bronchial tubes will relax and your energy level will increase.


In 2 weeks
Your blood circulation will increase and it will continue to improve in the next 10 weeks.
